Our Story
A childhood question became a lifelong calling.
When Rev. Tiffany McCall was in the second grade, a classmate she shared lunch with was placed in foster care and disappeared from her classroom. She was too young to understand why he couldn't stay with his family, or why not every child had a safe place to call home. But she never stopped asking.
Years later, working at Polinsky Children's Center, she saw the answer up close: the realities and fragility of the foster care system, and how easily young people fall through its cracks. That experience deepened a commitment that had been forming since childhood. She began sheltering young people and families in her own home. In time, that commitment became a vision: Mother's House and Pillars Plus Foundation.
That vision grew through the shared compassion and ministry of First United Methodist Church, Jacksonville. Together, the church and Pillars are helping young adults aging out of foster care and students facing hardships pursue stable housing, education, employment, and independent adulthood.
I've always been involved with youth and young adults. They mean so much to me. To inspire hope in them
— I feel like is my life passion.

Our Vision
Why It Matters
Turning eighteen shouldn't mean losing everything.
Every year, young adults age out of foster care and are expected to become fully independent overnight with no home to return to, no family to call, no one waiting to catch them if they fall.
Without a safe place to land, it's nearly impossible to hold a job, finish school, or plan more than a day ahead, and the streets are waiting exactly where the system leaves off.
